On Friday, May 15, 2020, the 8th-grade students at SunRidge Middle School will be taking a field trip to Universal Orlando Resort. Gradventure is a fun night in the parks reserved just for 8th graders and provides a multitude of things for students to do in a fun and safe environment. Throughout the night, students will be able to enjoy dance zones, street entertainment, special events, and all of the great theme rides in both Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios parks. This is a night of celebration before they transition to high school.

Gradventure forms were sent home with students, but HERE is another copy in case it was misplaced. All of the information needed to register is included in the document. THIS VIDEO will also help answer any questions you have.

Registration and final payments are due by March 2, 2020.

Literacy Week

Mark your calendars - Literacy Week is coming January 27-31! We will be having a Book Fair all week and on 1/29 we have Read-a-thon again in the gym.

And don't forget to read the book Wonder and pass the Book Taco Quiz so you can be invited to watch the movie on January 30th! This is a great read, it's the fictional story of August Pullman, a 10-year-old with a very different-looking face—the result of a chromosomal abnormality and an illness—and his journey from the nest of homeschooling to the wilds of middle school.

Fame Jr. the Musical Playbill

“Have a parent or relative that would like to advertise their local business in our Fame Jr. Playbill? Want to buy a shout-out for a friend of yours in the cast?

Please consider supporting the SRMS cast of Fame Jr. the Musical! Proceeds will go to the Fame set construction, sound equipment, costumes, and printing of playbills, headshots, etc.

We are having a playbill fundraiser! A playbill is a physical program that will be passed out to audience members of Fame Jr.

The playbill will hold musical information, cast bios, ads, and shout-outs to cast and crew members! Please ask your parents, relatives, and friends if they are interested in placing an ad in the playbill! Playbill orders will be due January 24th through school pay. Please refer to the Playbill order form for all the information.

There are many volunteer opportunities here at SRMS! If you are looking to get involved please email Jennifer Swanson at volunteers@srmsptso.org to hear about the many different teacher, school and PTSO activities available. We appreciate all of our volunteers as they help to make our school a success!

In order to help out with our students or chaperone a field trip at SunRidge Middle School, you will need to be an OCPS approved ADDitions volunteer.  This has to be done every year, so please make sure you have created or updated your ADDitions profile. Use this link to register: https://ocps.samaritan.com/

Please sign up under Eagles Volunteer (this way you are attached to SunRidge Middle) for a starter and others as needed!  We will add opportunities as they come up.  If you are volunteering on campus you must sign-in on the computer in the front office (as well as getting a badge from Ms. Cosme).  Please make sure that you know your login.  If you can’t log in, you might not be able to volunteer.  We ask that you log your hours in the system as well. Any questions please email robin.nelms@ocps.net.

Please remember to log your volunteer hours in Additions! Just signing in at the front office does not log your hours.

Thank you to all of our volunteers!!

Please consider joining our School Advisory Council.  The SAC meets on the third Monday of each month at 4:30 pm in the SRMS Media Center.

Help us with your Online Shopping?

AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon with the same products, prices, and shopping features as Amazon.com. The difference is that when you shop on smile.amazon.com, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the charitable organization of your choice.  Please select Sunridge Middle School PTSO to help benefit our many programs here for our students during the year.
