Chess Club

The SRMS Chess Club is back! Meetings are held every Thursday afternoon from 4:15pm to 5:15pm.

All SunRidge students are welcome. No previous experience is required! We will teach any student how to play.

Students should be picked up from Chess Club no later than 5:15pm.

Special note: Any student who wishes to attend Chess Club must be registered for Boys and Girls Club (BGC). There are no exceptions. On Thursdays, at dismissal, students will first go to the cafeteria to check in with BGC and eat a snack (provided). Then, we walk as a group to the Media Center to begin the club meeting.

It’s our first year of Chess Club here, and we’re going strong! 

We have many good and enthusiastic students.

The SRMS Chess Club is meeting on Tuesdays from 

4–5pm (after school) in the Media Center. The club is being run 

by Mr. Regan and Mr. Yourick.

All SunRidge students and experience levels are welcome. Some students come having never played chess before, while others have played for years and competed in multiple tournaments. We teach and help to build the skills of new players and provide a great opportunity for experienced players to grow. 

We’re also hoping to have a chess tournament against the Chess Club of Bridgewater Middle later in the school year (in the spring).
