One way the Sunridge Middle School PTSO supports creativity and innovation in our school community is through financial grants. Each year we invite all teachers to submit ideas for projects that could make a difference in our school and reflect the core values of OCPS. Grants typically range from $50 to $200, however there is no minimum or maximum amount.
GRANT GUIDELINES
The PTSO Teacher Grant program funds classroom-based and extracurricular academic and athletic enrichment projects that utilize grant funds in creative and economical ways to benefit the largest population of students. Funding priority is given to programs that develop and implement innovative academic experiences for students.
Grant requests should align with the Sunridge Middle PTSO bylaws that include the following objectives:
Support the highest standards of academic excellence and programs that enable children to do their best and become life-long learners.
Sustain an environment that encourages cooperation and collaboration among parents, educators, and the community at large in achieving our goals.
Respect and respond to the physical, psychological, emotional, racial, religious, ethnic, and economic diversity that characterizes and enriches the our School District.
These grants are typically not for the purchase of technology and teachers looking to purchase technology are encouraged to investigate alternate funding.
